One can fish without using a landing net by practicing proper catch and release techniques. This involves carefully handling the fish with wet hands to protect its slime coat, removing the hook quickly and gently, and releasing it back into the water as soon as possible. It's important to avoid lifting the fish out of the water if possible and to minimize handling to reduce stress and potential harm to the fish. Additionally, using barbless hooks can make it easier to release the fish without causing injury. **
